Countdown to ROSCon 2022

ROSCon 2022 will be here before you know it, so if you haven’t already registered to attend, here are a few more reasons to make it official.

  1. This is the eleventh ROSCon, so there will be ample opportunity to reference “turn it up to 11.

  2. Whoever had ROS meets Laparoscopic Liver Resection on their ROSCon22 Bingo card is off to a great start. Reuben Docea from Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum -- the Heidelberg-based German Cancer Research Center -- and Jan Müller from Technische Universität Dresden will be kicking things off on Day One. Docea and Müller have collaborated on a minimally invasive liver surgery procedure that relies on ROS.

  3. The number of attendees is a moving target as RSVPs continue to come in, but as of today there are 44 countries represented!

  4. Fernando Cladera Ojeda and Xu Liu, both with UPenn, will present an open source flight stack for UAVs.

  5. The most sponsors of any ROSCon with nearly 50 companies supporting the event from all around the world.

  6. The latest on ROS 2, Open-RMF, Gazebo, and more.

  8. There will be two sessions of exciting lightning talks showing off people’s work from across the community.

  9. ROSCon kicks off with workshops covering a variety of ROS topics! Don’t miss the pre-conference workshops on Oct. 19, this year’s workshop feature an introduction to Open-RMF, a hands on workshop with the Mini-Pupper legged robot , a tutorial on ros2_control organized by Denis Štogl and Ricardo Tellez, and the Japanese Language focused ROSCon JP!   10. There will be networking options galore, from the exhibit hall to the reception and everything in between.

  11. Lastly, Phoebe Bridgers narrates this documentary on things to do in Kyoto that you might find helpful.
